Photos of Destruction

After watching the implosion that happened on Saturday, much food was had and I have no idea why but all of us were famished after the blast. So we ended up walking to Bruegger's Bagels and having a wonderful cup of coffee along with a heavenly breakfast bagel (eggs, bacon, peppers and cheese, oh my!). Then after hanging around a very cold New Haven, me and my sister headed back to my apartment to chill out and make reservations for lunch.

So after eating a fabulous breakfast, we were already thinking about lunch and where to eat said lunch. I don't have any explanation for the all the foodage on Saturday other than the fact that something cavewoman in us woke up from watching the structural carnage of the blast and became hunger. "UGH, me want food!"

So we headed over to Modern Apizza which so far is the best pizza I've had in New Haven. They have all the regular toppings you could imagine plus a "Specialty" list that features the likes of crabcake and clams casino (which was phenomenal the last time I had it, the clams were perfect).

After this, with our belly's full of pizza-goodness, me and my sister decided to see the implosion site and possibly get as close as we could to the carnage. Little did we know that the whole site is just open to the public for the most part. I mean, you can't walk onto the bended steel, but you probably could since all you had to do is hop the fence over by one part. Here are some of the photos I took as we walked along the block around the coliseum.

And this picture illustrates how close you can get to the fallen steel, you can actually touch it!

That's my sister's mittened hand!
