Painful Guess Slingbacks & Martinis

So last night was spent having girl talk and catching up with some great friends of mine who wanted to dish about my UK expedition. So we decided to meet up at Hot Tomatoes in New Haven for some great martinis and to just have a nice night out that didn't include beer (yes, there are other drinks besides beer.)

This is one of those chainy type bar/restaurants, so the drinks are great but the bartender ladies were big C-words. Essentially, if you were a girl you had a problem getting their attention for a drink, but if you were a guy seated at the bar you couldn't beat them off with a stick if you could. But still, great martinis so it's worth having to wave your arms around as if you're landing a plane.

However, silly me decides to try out my new pair of Guess slingbacks which are gorgeous in every way imaginable. Everything seemed fine while walking over to the bar and even with standing for the entire length of time we were there, but alas...Walking back to the car proved to be quite a chore. So next time I'll wear my "cheaters" (those nifty little Dr. Scholl's pads for the ball of your foot). Sneaky, sneaky, but worth every penny (or pence).
